Susan Thayer is a Colorado real estate professional, entrepreneur, and community leader with extensive experience representing buyers, sellers, and investors throughout the Denver metropolitan area. As an Owner and Broker Associate of The Thayer Group, she has helped the team close more than 780 real estate transactions totaling more than $412 million in sales volume across 36+ Colorado communities since the team’s founding in 2008. Susan specializes in personalized client service, combining extensive market knowledge with clear communication, careful attention to detail, and an understanding of the decisions involved in buying and selling a home.

 

Susan is also an owner of Keller Williams Action Realty, where she has been involved since 2011. The Castle Rock-based brokerage has supported as many as 80 real estate agents along with multiple staff members. Her experience as both a brokerage owner and practicing real estate professional gives her a broad understanding of residential real estate, from individual negotiations and transaction management to the larger market and operational forces affecting buyers, sellers, and real estate professionals.

 

In addition to her work with clients, Susan is actively involved in real estate market analysis and the REALTOR® community. Since 2023, she has served on the Denver Metro Association of REALTORS® (DMAR) Market Trends Committee, including as Vice Chair, regularly contributing to the analysis and communication of housing market conditions throughout the Denver metropolitan area.

 

Susan’s entrepreneurial experience extends well beyond residential real estate. She previously owned and operated Studio Fit, an independent group fitness studio in Castle Rock, where she managed the business and taught fitness and weight-loss classes as a certified instructor and nutritionist. She was also an Area Developer and franchise owner for Sport Clips, owning two Colorado locations, selling 58 franchise licenses across Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas, and assisting franchisees with the opening and operation of more than 25 locations. Earlier in her career, she spent more than a decade as an Area Developer and franchise owner for Mail Boxes Etc., now The UPS Store, where she owned two locations and sold more than 140 franchise licenses across the three-state region.

 

Community involvement has been a longstanding part of Susan’s career in Castle Rock and Douglas County. She currently serves on the Community Board of Directors for AdventHealth Castle Rock Hospital and has been involved with the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce for more than two decades, including service on its Board of Directors, as Co-Chair of Starlighting, as a radio program host, and as a class instructor. Her previous community service also includes the DCS Montessori School Accountability Committee and leadership roles with the Castle View High School PTO. She is also a graduate of Leadership Douglas County.

 

Susan’s business and community contributions have received numerous recognitions from the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce, including Small Business of the Year in 2022 and the Ping Jung Lee Volunteer of the Year Award. She has also been recognized through nominations for Small Business of the Year and Citizen of the Year.

 

Susan earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder. Outside of real estate and community service, she enjoys fitness, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
